TEMPO.CO, Pangkalpinang-The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in Pangkalpinang forecast potential of rain in the West Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung on Wednesday, October 13.
"Based on weather observation, rain occurs on the mainland with light intensity," said Pangkalpinang BMKG Analysis Unit Coordinating Office staff Nur Setiawan on Tuesday.
Overall, the potential for rain on the mainland is still relatively low because the rain only occurs in one of the seven regencies in Bangka Belitung.
Meanwhile, the sea waves in the Bangka Belitung waters is expected to reach two meters. While the height of sea waves in the other waters in the northern Bangka strait and Gelasa reach up to 1.5 meters with winds ranging between 13 to 25 kilometers per hour.
He said that, with the current condition of the sea waves, traditional fishermen are encouraged to not perform activities to the middle of the ocean considering the height of the wave is still not safe enough for sailing.
