TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jambi police have named 31 suspects allegedly involved in the forest and peat land fires. At least 27 of them are individual suspects and four are corporates.
"There are four companies that we have named as suspects. All of them are palm oil companies, “ said Chief of Jambi Police Brigadier GeneralLutfi Lubihanto to Friday (9/10).
The companies are PT Dyera Hutan Lestari (in Tanjungjabung Timur regency), PT Ricky Kurniawan Kertapersada (in Muarojambi regency), PT ATGA (in Tanjungjabung Timur regency), and PT Tebo Alam Lestari (in Tebo regency).
Lutfi also said that the investigation was time-consuming because the police needed information from sides for investigation.
Those witnesses are from the Plantation Agency, the Forestry Agency, the National Land Agency, the Environment and Forestry Ministry and experts from the Bogor Agricultural Institution.
