TEMPO.CO, Bandung - The government will continue to work with Japan in developing bullet trains facility in Indonesia. State Owned Enterprises Minister Rini M. Soemarno is convinced that Japan would not withdraw its investment in the project.
According to Rini, the government is already in talks with the Japanese regarding the project.
"We are friends with Japan, so there will be no investment withdrawals. We are currently discussing the agreement for the bullet train project," the minister told reporters after attending the anniversary of PT Len Industri (Persero), Friday, October 9.
PT Len is a strategic SOE that manufactures and offers several types of products and services. One of its services is providing rail transports. PT Len welcomes the bullet train project, as they are prepared to deliver breakthrough products such as a signaling system—currently being used by the Cirebon-Surabaya railway line.
