TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The National Entrepreneur Network (Japnas) is ready to partner with local and foreign investors that are interested to invest in the maritime sector.

During the sidelines of the Indonesia Maritime Expo (IME) 2015, Thursday, October 8, held in JIEXPO Kemayoran, Japnas chairman Bayu Priawan said that the efforts to restore Indonesia's status as a maritime nation requires the participation of many parties, especially investors.

Bayu who is also the chairman of Blue Bird Group, said that strengthening the maritime sector require more than state and regional budgets.

"The maritime sector, which had been left behind, requires massive investments. Therefore we must use all the potential we have," he said on Thursday.

Bayu also stressed the need to develop coastal cities to support maritime programs.

"The development of coastal industries is paramount for the sustainability of state maritime projects. It is essential to accelerate the maritime development and economy."

The IME 2015 was opened on October 7 and will last until the 10th. The event is a strategic forum to bring together stakeholders in maritime industry development. The forum, initiated by the Ministry of Tourism, is joined by some 320 participants.
