TEMPO.CO, Tangerang-National Narcotics Agency head Gen. Budi Waseso said that he had been training a special force, which he referred as the ‘stealthy’ force, to combat drugs.
“[The special force] is still in training phase,” Budi said at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Thursday, October 8.
Budi explained that members of the special force were trained to use special equipment.
“I guarantee that my troops cannot be bribed, influenced, or hired,” he said.
Budi promised that there would be surprises when the special force starts to work. He said will deploy the special force in drug-prone areas, such as entertainment spots in Jakarta.
Budi also expressed his concern over massive drugs circulation in Indonesia targeting children, students and police personnel. He said that the formation of the special force was a part of BNN’s efforts to save young generations from drugs.
