TEMPO.CO, Tangerang-Head of the National Narcotics Agency, Commissioner General Budi Waseso, said that drug smugglers are equal to murderers. "They are killers," he said, referring to foreign smugglers on Thursday October 8.
The smugglers were from various countries, such as China, Taiwan, and Malaysia. Metro police, during July-September 2015, have arrested 1,562 narcotics suspects, dominated by foreign citizens.
Budi said that the smugglers are part of an international narcotics syndicate. "They are enemy of the state. The threat is clear," he said.
He added that Indonesia should not take penal court to trial the suspects. "We have 1,500 suspects. If arrested, they will be burdens of the state," he said.
