TEMPO.CO, Bandarlampung -The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) said Wednesday, October 7, that bad weather will still occur in the southern waters of the Sunda Strait until Thursday.
"High waves in waters reach two to three meters," said Lampung Maritime Meteorology Station forecaster, Dwi Hartomo Ramdani in Bandarlampung on Wednesday.
He said the bad weather also hit Lampung, from the Indian Ocean on the west of Lampung to the coastal waters of western Lampung.
In the southern waters of Sunda Strait, winds blow from the southeast at a speed of 10 to 20 knots, cloudy weather, wave height is between 0.75 to two meters, and a maximum wave height of two to three meters.
Weather information in the east coast of Lampung, wind blows from the east to southeast at a speed of 5 to 15 knots, cloudy weather, wave height is between 0.75 to 1.5 meters, and a maximum wave height of 1.5 to two meters.
Northern part of the Sunda Strait, between Merak and Bakauheni, high waves reach 0.5 to 1.25 meters, a maximum of 1.25 to two meters, with wind blowing from the southeast at a speed of 5-10 knots, and cloudy weather.
Weather and ocean waves prediction applies for 24 hours, beginning October 7, at 7 am until October 8, 2015 at 7 am.
