TEMPO.CO, JakartaThree more bodies of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims killed in the Mina stampede were identified, thereby bringing the death toll in the accident to 103.

"By Tuesday morning, at 8 a.m. Saudi time, the number of dead Hajj pilgrims increased to 103 from 100," Chief of the Indonesian Hajj Pilgrimage Organizing Committee for Mecca region Arsyad Hidayat stated on Tuesday.

Two of the dead Hajj pilgrims were from flight batch 61 of Jakarta-Bekasi embarkation point, and one was from flight batch 61 of Surabaya embarkation point, he noted.

The three dead Hajj pilgrims were identified as Nining Irianingsih Harun, Kusnadi Adi Wijaya, and Djaspandi Mortadji Irsyad.

"The newly identified bodies were discovered by a Hajj pilgrim protection team comprising Jaetul Muchlis Basir, Dr Taufik, and Naif Bajri Basri Marjan," he remarked.

They identified the three bodies of the Indonesian Hajj pilgrims after searching their documents and files, he stated.

This year, the Indonesian government had sent as many as 168.8 thousand Hajj pilgrims to the Muslim holy lands of Mecca and Madinah.

Al Jazeera reported recently that at least 717 people had been killed in a stampede at the annual Hajj pilgrimage, Saudi Arabias civil defence directorate affirmed, as the death toll continues to rise.

The directorate stated that at least 863 other pilgrims were injured in the September 24 stampede, which took place in Mina on the outskirts of the holy city of Mecca.
