TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-State Owned Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno proposed a Rp3 trillion capital injection for five state-owned companies. The additional capital will be given through State Capital Participation (PMN) in 2016.
The five companies she mentioned are PT Pertani and PT Sang Hyang Seri; each will receive Rp250 billion; PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia (PPI) for Rp500 billion, PT Pelindo III for Rp1 trillion, and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk for Rp1 trillion.
"The PMN for 2016 is Rp3 trillion," Rini said during a work meeting with the House of Representatives' SOE Committee in Jakarta on Monday, October 5.
Rini said that the additional capital is needed to speed up infrastructure and energy development, increase food sovereignty, and support business credit programs.
The capital injection for PT Pertani and Sang Hyang Seri, said Rini, will be used to boost the capacity of quality rice seeds. Meanwhile, the capital injection PT PPI will be used to maintain the stability of sugar prices.
Meanwhile, Wijaya Karya had already received a PNM of Rp3 trillion. The constructor will receive additional capital next year to complete the Balikpapan-Samarinda toll road project and the 2x200 MW power plant construction in Aceh.
The proposed PNM for Pelindo III will be used for the company's 2016 investments.
According to Rini, port capacity and services in eastern Indonesia need to be developed more. "Pelindo III is considered incapable of using funding sources, making the company unable to pay lending back above bank rates," she said.
