TEMPO.CO, Mecca-A total of 108 flight groups, with a total of 44,346 Indonesian pilgrims left Mecca to Medina and back to Indonesia, hajj organizers said Sunday, October 4.
"As of Sunday afternoon, as many as 108 flight groups, accompanied by 540 officers had already departed from Mecca to Jeddah and Medina," said the Head of Integrated Information Systems and Computerized Hajj Committee (PPIH) 2015, Reza Muhammad Marzal, in Mecca on Sunday.
Since September 28, 2015, the first wave of returning pilgrims had gradually dispatched to King Abdul Aziz International Airport (KAAIA) in Jeddah from Mecca. While since October 3, 2015 the assembly of the second wave had gradually departed from Mecca to Medina.
Reza explains, of the 108 flight groups, 85 groups with 34,784 pilgrims have departed for Jeddah to fly home through KAAIA.
While the other 23 groups with 9,562 pilgrims went to Medina complete their rituals Prophet's Mosque before heading back to the country through the Amir Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz (AMAA) airport in Medina.
Hajj pilgrims returning officer Aini Ismail said on Monday, 14 flight groups will depart from Mecca to Jeddah and 15 groups are departing from Mecca to Medina.
