TEMPO.CO, Bekasi - The Bekasi administration has prepared to allocate Rp 67 billion (US$4.7 million) for the expansion of the bridge above the toll road connecting Jakarta-Cikampek at Jatiwaringin, Pondok Gede in 2016.
“[The bridge expansion] is aimed at reducing traffic congestion at the Jakarta and Bekasi border,” Tri Adhianto, the head of the Bekasi Road and Water Services, said on Sunday, September 27, 2015.
According to Tri, the city administration will add another bridge to separate the lanes for cars entering and leaving the city.
“There will be two bridges, one [for cars heading] towards Jakarta and the other towards Bekasi,” he said.
Tri added that the fund for project consisted of an assistance fund of Rp 27 billion (US$1.9 million) provided by the West Java provincial administration, Rp 10 billion (US$714,200) from the Bekasi Budget, and an assistance fund of Rp 30 billion (US$2.1 billion) from Jakarta.
