TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Chief of Indonesian Army Staff Gen. Mulyono said that only military official cars are allowed to use military specifically-assigned license plated.
“Private cars using military license plates are often found. It cannot be allowed,” Mulyono said at the Army Special Forces headquarter in Cijantung, East Jakara, on Friday, September 25, 2015.
The former Army Strategic and Reserve Command (Kostrad) commander also bans retired army generals to use military license plates. According to Mulyono, retired military officials are no longer allowed to use military attributes.
“We will conduct operation and strip [the license plates],” Mulyono added.
Therefore, Mulyono has ordered the Army Military Police to screen military vehicles on streets. Mulyono also asked the Military Police to conduct operations at night entertainment spots against off-duty military personnel or those who back the entertainment spots.
“I don’t issue order to secure the discotheques. That’s not army’s jobs,” Mulyono asserted.
