TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo cancelled his plan to celebrate Eid al-Adha in West Sumatera. Instead, the President delivered a cow to Padang.
Zardi Syahrir, Chief of Public Relation at the West Sumatera Provincial Government said that Jokowi delivered a cow weighing at 1,000 kilograms (1 ton). The cow will be slaughtered at the West Sumatera Great Mosque after Eid al-Adha prayer. "The cow is currently being held at the Great Mosque," Zardi said on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.
Zardi explained that Jokowi had planned to visit West Sumater on Wednesday, before taking the Eid al-Adha prayer on Thursday, September 24, 2015, in Bukittinggi. The plan, according to Zardi, was cancelled because there are changes in Jokowi's work visit schedules.
