For the record, the American mining company is having a hard time in its business as it has not obtained an export recommendation letter from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
The ministry is still waiting for the extension of an agreement to build a smelter between Newmont and PT Freeport Indonesia in order to give export recommendation.
Meanwhile, Newmont’s concentrate export ends on 18 September 2015.
Newmont has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Freeport to build a joint smelter and the MoU is valid until 30 September 2015.
However, as of now, there is no certainty yet about the follow up of the agreement between the two companies.
