300 Shacks Under Toll Road in N. Jakarta to be Demolished

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Around 300 shacks under Sedyatmo toll road, North Jakarta were dismantled by the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) personnel, Friday (9/18).

North Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Iyan Sofyan Hadi, said today's control is continuation of previous effort.

His side deployed 170 joint personel from Satpol PP, Army/Police, sub-dept. of city cleanliness, and PPSU.

"During this two days, we have dismantled 600 shacks. Now we dismantled 300," he said.

He predicted that the control of illegal shacks will be done next week due to its number reached thousands of shacks and heavy equipments are difficult to enter the location.
