Budi Waseso: Death Row Convicts Should Be Executed Immediately

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Narcotics Agency Chief Commissioner General Budi Waseso has urged death row convicts to soon be executed and support the execution through the Law and Human Rights Ministy.
“Because its no longer my authority, but I will encourage them so that the execution would still be carried out,” Budi said in Police Headquarter on Friday, September 18.
Waseso expressed his support towards capital punishment and says its part of a realization from the Constitution.
Up to Friday, there are still two death row convicts that has not been executed. The are Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso of the Philippines, and Serge Areski Atlaoui of France. The execution of Mary Jane was delayed due to a sudden instruction from President Joko Widodo at the last moment.
Mary Jane is currently awaiting schedule and is requested to be a witness in the Maria Kristin Sergio trial, who allegedly have recruited Mary Jane for human trafficking and drug case. Meanwhile, Serge is an employee at an ecstasy factory in Cikande, Tangerang, in 2005. He is mentioned to be a technician in the factory that manufacture drugs.
Serge escaped the second wave death row on April 28 2015. He filed a lawsuit at the last moment prior to the execution.
