TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Syaifullah Tamliha, Deputy Chief of the United Development Party Faction at the House of Representatives, criticized the increase of incentives for parliament members in the 2016 State Budget draft. Syaifullah said that the amount proposed in the draft was not appropriate for the DPR members' performance.
"They have a very low performance. Using high inflation [as a reason to increase the incentives] is good. However, an increase must also be based on proactive perofrmance," said Syaifullah on Wednesday, September 16, 2015.
Syaifullah claimed that parliament members are yet to provide their top performance since they were elected on October 1, 2014.Currently the DPR had only managed to produce three laws and discussed nine draft bills.
