Jokowi to Meet UAE Investors on Third Day of Middle East Trip

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential Communication Team member Ari Dwipayana said that President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo was scheduled to visit the United Arab Emirate on the third day of his official visit to Middle East.
Ari said that Jokowi was to attend a number of agenda, including a bilateral meeting with the Crown Prince of UAE Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and a business meeting with country’s investors.
“After attending the welcoming ceremony, the President will not leave the airport, because there are several agendas to be performed at the Assembly Room located near the airport,” Ari told Tempo on Sunday, September 13, 2015.
During the evening, Jokowi was scheduled to attend one on one meetings with ADIA managing director and several UAE investors. At 9 p.m. local time, Jokowi was set to visit Lulu Hypermarket Field. Jokowi’s agenda on the third day of his official visit would be concluded with a visit to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
The President left Indonesia for the state visit to the Middle East last Friday to Saudi Arabia and welcomed by King Salman bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia. President Joko Widodo was awarded a fifth-level King Abdul Aziz Medal which is the highest award granted to foreign heads of state.
In Saudi Arabia, the President met a number of high officials and businessmen. President Joko Widodo left Jeddah to the UAE Sunday afternoon.
Accompanying Jokowi during the visit were Coordinating Economic Minister Darmin Nasution, Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, Trade Minister Thomas Lembong, National Development Planning Minister Sofyan Djalil, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) chairman Franky Sibarani, and special envoy to the Middle East Alwi Shihab.
