TEMPO.CO, Wakatobi - Hundreds of governors and mayors in Asia-Pacific incorporated in the United Cities Local and Governments (UCLG) network will meet in Wangi-wangi, Wakatobi on September 5 to September 7, 2015, to discuss issues relevant to sustainable urban structuring from the perspectives of interest and need as well as local communities and governments.
Hamamatsu, Jeju, Guangzhou, Russia, Bangkok and Manila are among UCLG members that will send their representatives.
President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is also scheduled to open the meeting and deliver a speech about New Urban Agenda and give inspiration to regional chiefs and conference participants by explaining about the mental revolution agenda.
"This activity will focus on three issues, including low-carbon society, good governance and sustainable urban development," said Wakatobi regent Hugua on Friday, September 4, 2015.
Hugua said that the international event will also help to promote Wakatobi to the rest of the world, especially in Asia-Pacific.
