TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta- The weakening of rupiah which currently maintains at Rp14,000 per US dollar has not been considered a threat to three major projects in the areas of Yogyakarta.

The government said to have prepared an anticipation if those projects need a contract revision.  “We have prepared an evaluation step,” said Yogyakarta Development Planning Agency Chief Tavip Agus Rayanto said Tuesday, Sept. 1.

According to Tavip, since the weakening of rupiah, the Yogyakarta administration continue to coordinate with the district/city to monitor strategic projects in need of great budget and with a multiyear deal.

Tavip said there are a few large projects that are currently under construction.  The biggest one is the development of Tanjung Adi Karto Kulonprogo port.  Since it was developed in 2009, the project still requires Rp300 billion in funding.  The port located at West Yogyakarta is aimed to be completed by next year.

There is also the construction of the south lane ring road (JJLS) which started its development in 2006.  Measuring a distance of 117km, the project connecting through three subdistricts including Bantul, Kulonprogo and Gunungkidul is funded by the central government, provincial governent and district government.  All these projects has not had a contract revision, said Tavip.

Head of Statistics and Planning Bappeda Gunungkidul Saptoyo said from the land aquisition target of 192,000 meters square worth Rp57 billion, there has not been any indication for a revision.  “So far, there hasn’t been any changes in the project value,” said Saptoyo.
