TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian tenor Dani Dumadi (36 year old) started his debut in London by performing a mini opera entitled “I Capuleti e i Montecchi" with British artists from Microsopera group. The mini opera depicted love story of Romeo and Juliet was held at New Unity Islington for four nights starting from August 28 to August 31.
“I am so excited to perform with British artists in the mini opera, although I did not have an intense practice session because of my activities preparing Aubade for Indonesia`s Independence Day celebration at Wisma Nusantara,” said Dani Dumadi who played Tebaldo in the opera to Antara on Sunday.
Before his debut with Microscopera, Dani was involved in the production of musical film Footloose and Gilbert and Sullivan’s operetta Mikado. He was with Grosvenor Light Opera Company (GLOC) then, that was based in London.
“In addition to gaining many experience by getting involved in several musical works in England, I can feel how performing art continues to grow here,” said the father of two.
