TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After being emptied and fenced, as many as 41 shop houses located at Jalan Raya Bendungan Hilir, Central Jakarta, torn down on Monday (8/31).
A heavy vehicle had executed the buildings since morning. Some of the building owners were also still unloading their stuffs.
Public Relation of PD Pasar Jaya , Agus Lamun stated the demolishment was conducted because the use rights of all the buildings has been expired since 2005 ago.
"Since 2005, the use rights was renewed once 6 years, and stopped until 2013, as they will be re-built," he stated.
He explained, formerly those shop houses were used as a business place and an office. But due to unfeasible, the buildings should be rejuvenated and then integrated with Jaya Benhil Market.
"The demolishment itself will be complete in a month. Afterwards, it will be re-built," he closed.
