TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The second day of Frankfurt Museumsuferfest was running under a bright weather. About three million visitors flocked to the Main riverbank to enjoy entertainment that the culture festival has to offer.
A luring aroma pervaded from Nizza, a corner at the riverbank, where Indonesian team served nasi goreng and satay. People of Frankfurt enthusiastically queuing at Indonesian booth for both dishes.
Ragil Wibowo, Solihin and Aditya, the three cooks who run the booth had doubled the stock for the day, as the much-favored nasi goreng portions were sold out early on the first day.
“On the first day, all the dishes were sold out early by six pm. Whereas, more people were coming for satay and nasi goreng as the night fall,” Ragil said.
“People’s enthusiasm was surprisingly high.”
The team prepared 20 kilograms of rice and 2000 skewers of each of chicken and beef satay on the first day. On the second day, the rice supply was doubled to 40 kilograms.
“It’s enough for 700 portions,” Ragil explained.
“Hopefully the supply will be enough for the demand.”
One portion of nasi goreng is priced EUR5.5 and EUR9.5 with three skewers of chicken or beef satay.
Meanwhile on the cultural stage, Indonesian students opened the second day by exhibiting traditional ikat weaving originating from across Indonesia in a poco-poco dance.
