TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two Indonesian laborers suffered severe injuries due to a fire that occurred at the Radium compound owned by Saudi Arabian oil company ARAMCO.
Two Indonesian citizens were heavily injured from a fire incident that happened at ARAMCO complex, said Coordinator of Information and Socio-Cultural Function the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh, Ahrul Tsani Fathurrahman told Antara Kairo on Sunday.
It is reported that the fire at ARAMCO in Al Khobar has killed two foreign citizens while injuring 70 others, including two Indonesian citizens.
The fire first appeared from the Radium basement that comprised several towers. The biggest fire occurred in towers 2, 3 and 4, where a few Indonesian citizens reside.
“From six Indonesian families living in the compound, all survived and managed to be evacuated to a hotel, except for two Indonesian citizens that are currently being treated in John Hopkins Hospital in Al Khobar, said Ahrul.
Chairman of the Indonesian Petrol Engineering Expert in Saudi Arabia Sonny Irvana said the fire has been tamed and no more smokes were detected from the complex.
“Thank God all Indonesian citizens have been evacuated, except for two people that are still being treated in the hospital’s ICU room, and have received confirmation from friends that their conditions are getting better,” said Sonny.
