TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Manpower Minister M. Hanif Dhakiri categorically denied the rumor of foreign workers influx to Indonesia.
According to the minister, the total number of foreign workers in Indonesia is only 70,000 people, a number which is very small compared to the local workers that reach 129 million people from the total Indonesian population of 240 million.
“If we make a comparison, the number of foreign workers is 70,000 people out of the population of 240 million people,” the Minister said after inaugurating the Indonesian MFCA Forum On the APO Workshop on Material Flow Cost Accounting in Jakarta on Friday (28/8).
Therefore, Hanif called on all sides not to intimidate the people about the influx of foreign workers. He also called on the people to be well informed and not to believe in false information.
