Minister Susi: Fishery Academy Graduates Do Not Work Abroad

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti inaugurated 386 bachelors and 17 masters graduated from Fisheries Academy (STP) at the ballroom of the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry on Saturday, August 29.
In her remarks, Susi called on STP graduates not to work abroad.
"I want you all to work in Indonesia. I want you to become government officials who carry out your visions and missions,” Susi said.
Susi also said that Indonesia is a country with huge maritime potentials and with the second longest coastal areas in the world.
However, she said that in the international arena, Indonesia’s fisheries sector is only ranked the third in South East Asia.
"It remains a challenge for all of us,” she added.
Therefore, the Minster hoped that those STP graduates would work and dedicate themselves in Indonesia. She also said that she would prioritize STP graduates to be able to work at her ministry.
She also said that she has been proposing the salary increase of civil servants especially at the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry.
"Once again, congratulations. I’m waiting for your dedication,” she concluded.
