Prabowo Sued For Failing To Appoint Regional Party Candidate

TEMPO.CO, Medan - Head the Great Indonesian Movement Party (Gerindra) of Toba Samosir, Asmadi Lubis, has sued Chairman Prabowo Subianto and Head of North Sumatra Party Gus Irawan Pasaribu in Medan Court. Spokesman Fauzul Hamdi has said that Asmadi case has been registered as special civil case, and that the court has appointed three of best judges to deal with it.

Fauzul added that Asmadi sued Prabowo and Gus Irawan for failing to appoint him as Toba Samosir Regent Candidate. "In a glance, we see that the case is about Asmadi’s failing to score the candidacy, amid having had recommendation," said Fauzul.

Moreover, Asmadi also sued DPP Gerindra for firing him as the Head of Gerindra Tobasa "I press charges of Rp 108 billions," said Asmadi Lubis.

Asmadi added that his charges were (mainly) fueled by the fact that Gerindra has violated Law No. 8/2015 on Regional Election, in terms of no money transaction on regional election proceedings. Asmadi revealed that such practice still occurs in Gerindra.
