TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo spoke about the technical issues regarding the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and High Speed Train (HST) that will be completed by the end of August or by the middle of September 2015. President Jokowi said that the LRT and HSR project is still in the assessment phase.
"Fast train is still being assessed by the international consultant, then the assessment will be given to government assessment team. Late they will give recommendation, so that I can make a decision,” the president said, Saturday (22/8).
After that, the President will issue two Presidential Decrees. He hoped that the technical study be completed as soon as possible, so that the project can immediately begin.
LRT construction projects are not only in Jakarta but also other areas such as Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, Yogyakarta, Palembang and Semarang. Meanwhile, Jakarta will be a pilot project, so that thegovernment immediately implements the project in the city.
LRT project was initiated by the government of DKI Jakarta and there will be seven LRT corridor, such as Kebayoran Lama-Kelapa Gading (21.6 km), Tanah Abang-Pulo Mas (17.6 km), Joglo-Tanah Abang (11 km), Puri Kembangan-Tanah Abang (9.3 km), Pesing-Kelapa Gading (20.7 km), Pesing-Soekarno-Hatta Airport (18.5 Km), and Cempaka Putih-Ancol (10 km).
Jakarta government has proposed a budget to Rp500 billion in 2015 to state budget changes. The government then will be submitted Rp3 trillion in the 2016 state budget.
