TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Yogyakarta Regional government plans to develop a Science Park to maintain its reputation as the City of Education, in addition to complement the city's Taman Pintar (Smart Park) tourism site.
Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti said that legal studies related to the plan will be carried out in the near future.
The Yogyakarta administration is planning to develop the Science Park on the southern part of the city where a sports center was initially planned to be built, a project which has been stagnant for six years.
Haryadi expected that the Science Park can help to improve the economy of Yogyakarta residents, specifically those who live in the southern part of the city.
