TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama, said that parking lot quarrels can only be resolved with electronic parking machine. He believes that the machine can eradicate money collection habit and add more to the regional revenue.
Ahok claimed that there will be electronic parking machine in 375 streets in Jakarta by next year. So far, there are only three streets with parking machine, namely Sabang, Kelapa Gading, and Falatehan Streets.
“Clash between the city administration and mass organization is inevitable,” he said on Monday, August 10.
With the electronic parking machine, Ahok claimed that revenue from parking sector will improve significantly. In Sabang Street, the machine contributed Rp10-12 million in an evening, after having contributed only Rp500,000. “It means that there are hundreds of billions of money circulating on the outside,” he said.
