TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The joint operating body of Pertamina-Pertrochina East Java (JOB PPEJ) has prepared a plan to develop Sukowati C field in East Java in a bid to boost oil production.
"We are preparing a development of Sukowati C field since we have gained the principal permit for the location in Trucuk District from the local government," JOB PPEJ field manager Junizar Dipodiwirjo said in Bojonegoro on Thursday, August 6, 2015.
According to Junizar, a number of documents are being prepared to obtain other permits.
"Other steps related to the development of Sukowati C field are also being coordinated with the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force [SKK Migas]," he added.
Junizar said that the size of the field would be 4.6 hectares. However, he said that JOB PPEJ is yet to decide in which village the Sukowati C will be located.
Junizar explained that the development of new oil field was a part of an attempt to increase the production capacity of Sukowati fields in Bojonegoro and Tuban. Junizar revealed that the current production capacity of 59 oil wells located in the Sukowati fields stands at 19,000 barrels per day, decreasing from 22,000 barrels per day in 2014.
"The declining productivity is natural," Junizar said.
Junizar added that the Sukowati has a potential reserve of 150 million barrels.
