TEMPO.CO, Surabaya - As many as 430 remo dancers lifted the spirit in the annual “Cross Culture Festival” (CCF) which is being held in Surabaya starting from August 2 to 7.
Art and Culture Section Head of Surabaya Culture and Tourism, Herry Purwanto said on Thursday that the event is aimed to introduce variety of local and international dances.
“The first day is opened with remo dance by 43 dance communities in Surabaya, involving 430 dancers from the age of 5 to 16 years old,” said Herry as quoted by Antarannews.
On the second day, he continued, Yosakoi Dance are performed by around 1,000 dancers from around East Java.
The eleventh Cross Culture Festival are held in two locations namely Balai Pemuda Building and G-Walk Raya Surabaya. Dance practitioners from Makassar, Balikpapan, Tebing Tinggi, Jogjakarta, Banjarmasin and Surabaya are participating in a music dance workshop which is part of the event.
