TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of Public Informations for Jakarta's Attorney General Office (AGO), Waluyo, said that his office will not retract its' decision to name Dahlan Iskan's status as a suspect in the alleged corruption, which happened when he held the office as PT PLN's Executive Director.
In fact, Jakarta's AGO will correct the mistakes - as pointed out by the Judge which presided over the pretrial motion case - and name Dahlan as a suspect once more.
"We will not back down, until we get to the bottom of the case," said Waluyo after the hearing at South Jakarta's District Court on Tuesday, August 4.
Waluyo continued that they will not back down because AGO has enough evidence to link Dahlan to the alleged corruption relating to corruption of substations in Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara in 2011-2013. The decision - made by Judge Lendriati Janis - is based on several administrative errors in the process of naming Dahlan as a suspect.
"The decision is a significant blow to us - as investigators, it will make it harder for us to continue our investigations, given the nature of the decision handed down by the Court," said Waluyo, before adding that he will report the result of the pretrial hearing to the Jakarta's AGO Chief, Adi Toegarisman.
Jakarta's AGO, said Waluyo, is considering to file an appeal against the Court's ruling.
Dahlan Iskan's attorney, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, said that he welcomes the AGO's plan to file an appeal. "To date, no one has yet to appeal against the ruling of a pretrial hearing," said Yusril.
"As there are no precedent, we're not even sure whether the court will allow an appeal to be filed," continued Yusril.
In the hearing, Judge Lendriati Janis has ruled in favor of Dahlan Iskan, based on the fact that the AGO named Dahlan as a suspect and issued an order to investigate based on their investigation of witnesses relating to suspects other than Dahlan, which are involved in the corruption of in the procurement and construction of substations in Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara in 2011-2013 - which caused state-losses that exceeds Rp1 trillion.
