TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Google Indonesia rolled out “Google Now Card” campaign in one corner Blitzmegaplex cinema at Grand Indonesia early July. Dominated with white, the campaign booth came with a ‘wheel of fortune’ sofa and papers containing short questions to guide people how to ask Google’s virtual assistant.
“We will continue to open [booth] these one or two weeks,” said Sandy tantra, Consumer Marketing Manager of Google Indonesia, earlier this week.
According to Sandy, the campaign booth is planning to hit cinemas, gyms, shopping centers and other places where young people often hanging out as their campaign location.
What makes the app special, Sandy continued, is because the features are especially made for Indonesian users. The features include news, weather, and recommended YouTube Video. Contents will appear according to online habit of each user to make it relevant.
The app is available for download from Google Play under the name Google App. Users can then adjust setting to Indonesian language and activate location feature. Google App will then activate all features that is made special for Indonesian users.
Google Now Card was launched first in Indonesia before other ASEAN countries, which is a part of Google’s program that prioritize its service for Indonesian users. Before the launching, Google had launched YouTube Offline for India and Indonesia.
Indonesian users who are connected to 2G network can still enjoy speedy connection using Chrome browser.
