TEMPO.CO, Bogor - Culinary experience becoming more and more memorable from every visit to Bogor, rivaling the fame of the city’s iconic taro corms (Colocasia esculenta). LemonGrass, a restaurant strategically nested on Bogor’s primary route Jalan Raya Pajajaran is up to fuel culinary trends in the 'City of Rain', a nickname for Bogor city.
Wether it is day or night, LemonGrass which was first opened in February 2015 offers comfortable place for meal time with view of pool, water fountain, and flowery path. We can choose to be seated indoor , outdoor, or on the restaurant’s upper floor where we can indulge in the view of Mt. Salak.
“The view is fantastic,” Nuniek Marini, a guest from South Jakarta, give her testimonial as written on Koran Tempo on Friday, July 24. The mother of two brought her children in a fresh culinary adventure after series of fatty meals during Eid celebration.
Nuniek visited the restaurant after a recommendation from her friend and social media promotion. Nuniek was satisfied to see her two sons munching enthusiastically on Nutella tissue bread in the outdoor area.
Menu at LemonGrass is varying from dim sum to fried kwetiaw, from snacks to cocktail and mocktail.
“We combine the concept of modern kopitiam and restaurant,” said Priskia geraldine, LemonGrass’ Head of Promotion and Marketing.
Kopitiam is a Malaysian-style coffee shop where guests hang around for hours despite the fact that coffees are served only with cakes. This is similar to coffee shops thriving in Aceh, Pontianak, and Makassar. LemonGrass, however, modifies the limited menu choices to make itself comfortable place both for hang out and food hunting.
Guests from Jakarta and Bandung have always been crowding the restaurant that on weekends, there is always long queue for seats.
“The queue is very long,” said 20-year-old Vina Valentine from Jakarta who added that she should have booked before arriving at the restaurant.
