TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transportation Minister Ignasius Jonan commented on the search at the Trade Ministry by the officers of Metro Jaya Regional Police on Tuesday, July 28.
Former President Director of PT KAI (state-owned Indonesian railway opearator) had allowed law enforcement officers to also do a search at the Transportation Ministry, if there was suspicion of bribery related to the issue of Dwelling Time or the process of loading and unloading containers at Tanjung Priok Port which was seen slow.
"I think if there is a strong evidence, it will not be searched. That's my comment, if there is indeed an evidence, yes, please search it," he said at a Halal Bihalal event in the Transportation Ministry’s office, Medan Merdeka Barat Street, Central Jakarta, on Friday, July 31.
Jonan believed that the police officers will not conduct the search if there was no strong evidence.
Related to the length of the Dwelling Time processes, Jonan proposed to the Coordinating Minister for the Maritime to make the Presidential Decree (Keppres) as a step to strengthen the port operator as a coordinating agency in the port.
"Today, I proposed to the Coordinating Ministry for Economic, that if he wants it to, there is a Keppres that port authorities can coordinate all (of the process), so it should be a one-door service," said Jonan.
