TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia is not accordance to sharia, according to an Indonesian Ulemas Organization (MUI). The Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto said that President Joko Widodo has asked the Health Ministry and head of BPJS (Healthcare) to conduct dialogue with MUI to straighten out the fatwa.
"The president ordered the two agencies to immediately conduct dialogue," he said at the Presidential Office, on Friday, July 31.
According to Andi, Health Minister Nila Moeloek and Director of BPJS Health Idris had a meeting between the both of them. However, the dialogue with MUI could be held next week.
"It will do further dialogue next week after the completion of Nadhalatul Ulema's (NU) and Muhammadiyah's national congress. We are still waiting for the dialogue, after the Health Minister and the head of BPJS will report it to the President," said Andi.
The results of this dialogue will subsequently be used as an assessment by the government if there was something, which, according to MUI, needs to be changed from the system of BPJS. Thus, the government hoped BPJS could still run in Indonesia.
