TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry (PANRB) and Singaporean Ministry for Communications and Information, have signed the e-government cooperation agreement in Singapore on Tuesday, Junly 28, 2015.
The agreement is stipulated in the memorandum of understanding (MoU) about e-government which was signed by PANRB Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi and Singaporean Minister for Communications and Information Yacoob Ibrahim and witnessed by Indonesian President Joko "jokowi" Widodo and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Long. The signing of the MoU is a follow-up to PANRB Minister's visit to Singapore last January.
"Indonesia wants to attract investors from Singapore as many as possible. For that, we want to develop e-government so that it is easier for the government in providing public services to Singaporean investors," said President Jokowi.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Log expressed his joy in being able to build cooperation with Indonesia. As a friendly country, sharing knowledge and experiences in governance, especially in e-government development, is considered to be very important and beneficial for both countries.
Minister Yuddy said the MoU is an important milestone in friendly relationship between Indonesia and Singapore. "The Indonesian and Singaporean governments realize the benefits and the importance of a cooperation, especially in bureaucratic reforms, one of them is e-government," Yuddy said.
Yuddy believed that the MoU will have a great impact on expanding insight and perspective in establishing information and technology-based innovations. Yuddy hoped that the MoU will provide the knowledge and opportunities to for both countries share experiences and policy issues.
