Garuda Indonesia Books Higher Revenues

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Garuda Indonesia has successfully booked a US$ 29.3 million (Rp 394.7 billion) of net profit during the first semester of 2015.
Ikhsan Rosan, Corporate Communications official of Garuda Indonesia said that the number is 114.5 percent higher compared to the same period last year. "Last year, Garuda experienced US$ 201.3 million losses," Ikhsan said in a written statement dated Thursday, July 30, 2015.
According to Ikhsan, the airline's improved performance in the middle of the global economic downturn is a result of various business development strategies and improved efficiency.
"Garuda Indonesia also managed to increase its revenue to US$ 1.84 billion, or up by 4.7 percent compared to the same period last year’s US$1.76 billion," said Ikhsan.
In addition to higher revenues, the airline also experienced an increase in the number of passengers during the first semester of 2015. In total, the airline had transported 11,555,319 passengers in total.
