TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat ensured the migrants' registration in capital will be started a day after the peak of Eid homecoming season.
"Our officers have started the migrants' registration because the peak is yesterday," told Djarot, in City Hall, Monday (7/27).
He continued, his side will continue to provide migrants' registration not only after Eid. "We will continue hold the registration because it is task of RW/RT management, urban village, sub-district Head, and Jakarta Population and Civil Registration and Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department," he explained.
Djarot added, the registration will be held including the examination of migrant's destination, their residence, and their job in Jakarta. "We will ask them, whether they will stay here or just transit, they want to study or looking for job? The data should be complete and accurate," he explained.
Moreover, Jakarta Provincial Government will be firm to the migrants who want to look for job but have no residence. "No they can't. If they have no residence, where they will sleep? We are worry that they would be people with social welfare problem (PMKS) and make the environment dirty," he said firmly.
Djarot admitted, the Jakarta ID Card will only be given for all migrants’ who already have residence or main job.
"But, there also people who have mobile job and only live in Jakarta for a few months. So, we can't see it in one side only," he revealed.
