TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The function of Kramatjati Market that is located in East Jakarta has been reportedly used as an illegal terminal for intercity-interprovincial (AKAP) bus. At least, every day, the place is used by as many as six to seven buses with destination to Central and East Java.
Mr. Lee, (49), one of PO Bus Operators admitted the market management had given permission to him by paying Rp100,000 per bus to park. But after passing through a long discussion, he was obligated to pay Rp3 million per month and only 6 buses could park and pick up passengers.
Those buses are from PO Kramatdjati, Zentrum, Bejeu, Shantika, Dedy Jaya, and Handoyo.
"Rp3 million per month is cheaper than before, which was Rp100,000 per bus per day," he told, Saturday (7/25).
Responding this matter, Kramatjati Main Market Manager, Muhammad Salam admitted that his side receives money from PO bus party to park in the market area. However, he immediately sent it to the head office of PD Pasar Jaya.
"Initially, I refused it. But eventually I agree where they (PO bus) only use the market area during homecoming season. Moreover, I immediately send the money to the head office," told Muhammad Salam.
The AKAP buses usually wait the passenger near the east side of Kramatjati market entrance starting from 2-7 PM.
