TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Anak Agung Gede Ngurah Puspayoga said on Sunday, July 26, 2015 that he would boost more young entrepreneurs in Papua.

According to Puspayoga, Papua has a huge potential to boost entrepreneurship due to its abundant natural and human resources.

“We understand that the people in Papua had wanted to be economically prosperous and independent. Therefoe, We would facilitate and provide the people in Papua with necessary training to start their own business,” Puspayoga said.

Puspayoga visited Papua to hold entrepreneurship trainings adjusted with the local potential and wisdom. Puspayoga admitted that he was proud of the enthusiasm showed by the people to attend the trainings.

“It reflects their aspiration to be economically prosperous, which in turn will improve Indonesia’s economy. This is amazing,” he added.

The Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Ministry held trainings at Muara Tami District, Papua, on milkfish cultivation, ice cream production, coconut extract production, waste recycling and fertilizer production.

“Because these [trainings] are needed by the people, and these will be facilitated. We won’t accomodate things that people don’t need,” he said.

Puspayoga hopes that the people in Papua would implement the knowledge they gained from the trainings so they could improve their economy.
