TEMPO.CO, Taipei - Five Indonesian representatives successfuly advance to the semi-finals of Chinese Taipei Open Grand Prix Gold 2015. In the men's doubles, the final tickets is secured through the pairs Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon meeting in the semi-finals.
Hendra/Ahsan cruised into the big four after defeating 2014 World Champion from Korea, Ko Sung Hyun/Shin Baek Cheol by 21-15, 21-23, 21-19. While Kevin/Marcus, who last month won a silver medal at the 2015 SEA Games qualifying by beating Takuto Inoue/Yuki Kaneko (Japan), 21-19, 21-18. Women's doubles pair Greysia Polii/Nitya Maheswari Krishinda stepped smoothly into the semi-finals by conquering Shizuka Matsuo/Mami Naito (Japan), with a score of 21-10, 21-3.
The mixed doubles also passed two representatives through Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto who defeated China’s the third lead from China, Liu Cheng/Bao Yixin, 21-18, 15-21, 21-16. Young couple Ronald Alexander/Melati Daeva Oktavianti made a surprise by toppling Australian Open Super Series 2015 champion, Lee Chun Hei Reginald/Chau Hoi Wah (Hong Kong), 21-17, 21-18.
"Actually we do not have any special secret in winning this game. We were playing with focus and full concentration. In addition we have confidence that we can win this match. At that time we thought that nothing is impossible, anyway effort continues," said Melati when contacted from Jakarta.
