TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Operational Director of Karir.com, Dino Martin said that career world will be flooded with new generation called Generation Z in the next few months. According to Dino, Generation Z has unique characteristics that reflect more awareness towards advance technology as well as awareness toward privacy.
“Despite being born from Generation X parents, they [Generation Z] grow up and mostly influenced by Generation Y who were born after 1995,” said Dino as reported by Tempo.
Generation X is referred to people who were born between 1960s and 1970s while Generation Y, also known as Millennium Generation, are people who were born between 1980s to mid 1990s.
Similar to Generation Y, said Dino, Generation Z is also familiar with high technology.
“But they have higher awareness concerning privacy.”
One of the effect is, according to Dino, Generation Z do not like to wear uniform. Generation Z is educated to be people who has critical thinking about politics and humanity. They also care about career upgrades.
“They want the things they do to have impacts on the world.”
Such differences between generations, said Dino, should be understood in running a company’s activities. He suggests that companies accommodate the needs brought by the new generation.
