TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - People spend their ngabuburit (waiting for break-fasting time) times in many different ways. A group of youngsters in Bandung, for example, prefer to spend their time before iftar by visiting popular haunted sites in the city.
Heru Rudiansyah, the guide and one of the initiators of the Ramadan horror tour, said he gained positive responses after inviting their other friends to join the tour. Heru guides more than five participants each day.
According to Heru, the horror tour usually starts at four in the afternoon. The tour visits three to five haunted locations. The most popular locations are the Ambulance House on Jl. Bahureksa, Pasteur Statue in Maluku Park, Jalan Siliwangi, and Isola building at the Indonesian University of Education. When the iftar time is near, tour participants will be taken to the selected restaurant around the haunted location to have their iftar.
Heru charge the tour participants Rp50,000 inclusive of the iftar food. The driving route is not less interesting. Heru would tells mystical stories of the street passed by the tour car.
Kania Fatik, a participant of the Ngabuburit Horror Story, finds the trip to be entertaining for the adrenalin.
“It’s fun, challenging, especially in night times,” said Kania.
