Police Investigate Sungai Bambu Shooting Incident

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Metro Jaya Police is currently investigating the shooting committed by one of its personnel against a resident of Sungai Bambu area. Investigators are examining evidence related to the incident.

"We are investigating the firearm and the shell casing," said Sr. Comm. Mohammad Iqbal, Chief of Metro Jaya Police Public Relations, on Monday, July 6, 2015.

In addition, the Profession and Security Division of Metro Jaya Police is conducting investigation towards some witnesses to determine whether the shooting was done according to procedures or not.

Jupri Pasaribu, also known as Jamal, 45 years old, died after he was shot on the back by a police officer. The incident occurred on Saturday evening, July 4, 2015, following a heated argument with Suprapto, another local resident of Sungai Bambu area.
