TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Approaching Eid al-Fitr, citizens are urged to be more cautious and should be picky in choosing several food products in traditional market. North Jakarta Marine, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub Department keeps intensifying to monitor over food containing dangerous substances as a consumer protection.
Head Section of North Jakarta Food Security and Counseling for North Jakarta Marine, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub Department, Zaenab Biki explained since last Monday (6/29) the monitoring had been carried over 7 traditional markets such as Lokbin Cilincing, Sunter Kirana, Muara Karang, Pademangan Barat, Pademangan Timur, Perikanan and Koja Baru Market.
“Next on July 7, we will conduct food monitoring in Sunter Podomoro Market,” she said.
On that occasion, according to her, her side will also take 90 food samples, like tofu, noodles, fish, cendol (a drink made from rice flour served with coconut milk, palm sugar and ice cubes), and various wet and dry snacks which aims to prevent food products containing dangerous substances for instance rhodamin B, formaline and aoramin.
In addition to the prevention of dangerous food circulated in traditional markets , activity is done as a form of law enforcement number 18/2012 on food.
