TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corporate Secretary of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero), Agus Haryadi, said that the fire that burned JW Sky Lounge in Terminal 2E at Soekarno-Hatta airport has been successfully extinguished.
"But we have to cope with the impact now, because there is still smoke billowing," Agus said when contacted by Tempo, Sunday, July 5th, 2015.
Currently, according to Agus, the officers are trying to eliminate the thick smoke from the Terminal 2E.
"For the cause of the fire and other information, I do not know," said Agus.
A lounge in Terminal 2E Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (JW Sky Lounge) was in flames on Sunday morning at around 06:00 am. Fire suddenly emerged in the lounge, thus making all activities in the international terminal to be stopped instantly.
"The fire started at 6:00 am. All check-in activities immediately stopped," said Chief of Police, Soekarno-Hatta Commissioner CH Pattopoi when contacted.
Pattopoi said that the source of the fire has yet to be known. But fire certainly comes from the JW Sky Lounge is located in Terminal 2E.
Although the fire was successfully extinguished at around 07:00 am, said Pattopoi, thick smoke is still billowing at the terminal2 E, so that all activities there halted. "Now it is the process of eliminating he smoke," said Pattopoi.
Pattopoi also ensured that there were no fatalities in this incident.
