TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Foreign Affairs Ministry's spokesperson Arrmanatha Nasir said that Indonesia has sent two protest notes to Malaysia this year in relation to airspace violation in Ambalat.
"Other incidents occurred, but the information is not clarified yet," Arrmanatha said on Thursday, July 2, 2015.
According to Arrmanatha, to send a protest note, the Foreign Affairs Ministry needs detailed information about the airplane type, the coordinate and the time of violation from field officers forwarded to the command center and sent to the Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Ministry.
Arrmanatha revealed that the information related to the airspace violations were frequently informal.
"The Foreign Affairs Ministry will send a protest note upon formal information receipt," Natsir said.
The Indonesian Air Force has detected nine airspace violations so far this year committed by Malaysia in Ambalat. The Air Force responded the situation by deploying fighter jets in Tarakan and Ambalat.
