TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - First Marshal Dwi Badarwanto, Head of the Indonesian Air Force Information Department, confirmed that the C-130 Hercules aircraft that crashed in Medan last Tuesday had previously received proper maintenance.
According to Badarwanto, the latest information stated that the plane crashed because one of its engine experiences a malfunction.
"Based on a pilot's experience, theoretically [the plane] could have been recovered because it is still on low altitude," Dwi said in Halim Perdanakusuma Airport on Thursday, July 2, 2015. Dwi added that one of the other causes of the crash was the presence of a radio antenna. "But it hasn't been concluded yet. The air force is still conducting investigations," Dwi said.
